Hospitality project

Brief

A 1960s-inspired cosmic diner at U-Venues, New Cairo, imagined as a spaceship that crash-landed in California: violet palms, light-blue couches and walls of iridescent ribbed glass. Featured by CairoScene in 2025.

The idea

A spaceship, crash-landed in 1960s California.

Creative director Roaa Lofty framed the restaurant as a past vision of the future. Elliptical windows, elongated arches in ribbed translucent glass and a wall clad in glossy purple tubes set the scene. Violet palms, an undulating light-blue couch and tubular metal chairs fill it. “The goal was to transport guests into a dreamscape that feels both nostalgic and futuristic,” says Mahmoud Abbas.
