Residential project
Brief
A private villa in Mivida, conceived as a study in shadow: black-veined marble, brushed bronze and smoked glass, lit like a gallery after dark. Winner, Best Luxury Residential Interior Design, Egypt — Luxury Lifestyle Awards 2022. Platinum — MUSE Design Awards 2022.
The idea
Darkness, handled with precision.
MAD built the villa around contrast. Book-matched black marble meets warm timber and brushed bronze, and light is drawn in lines rather than flooded, so the house reads like a gallery after dark.
The games room, framed by a hand-drawn mural.
Entertaining
A ground floor made for evenings.
The ground floor moves as a sequence, from a formal dining room to a faceted stone bar and on to a glass lounge that opens onto the garden. Each room hosts formally and still feels intimate.
Material
Stone, bronze and shadow.
Black-veined marble runs floor to ceiling in the lounge, warmed by timber and brushed bronze. Shelves are lit from within, a fireplace sits low in the stone, and a crystal chandelier falls through the stair.
The lounge, in book-matched black marble.
Rest
Upstairs, the palette softens.
Above the drama of the ground floor, the bedrooms turn to deep greys, walnut and leather: rooms made for rest.
A bedroom in deep grey, walnut and leather.
Recognition

La Feuille Blanche won Best Luxury Residential Interior Design, Egypt at the Luxury Lifestyle Awards 2022, took Platinum at the MUSE Design Awards 2022, and was featured by SceneHome in 2023.
